As we know, the issue of the rainbow armband surfaced on the alternate day of the 2022 World Cup. Several countries plan to wear the captain’s armband with the communication One Love.
Originally the captains of these countries planned to wear the rainbow armband with the end of campaigning for LGBTQ rights in Qatar. However, FIFA banned it so they stopped it. Namely, a yellow card penalty from FIFA to the captain who wore these accessories.
” In FIFA events, match staff must wear the sanctioned apparel and outfit handed by FIFA. Including the FIFA event totem specified and handed by FIFA.”
” Unofficial apparel similar as the One Love armband can be considered illegal. Players who wear it can admit a fine and a yellow card,” FIFA said in a statement.
Wales supporters dissatisfied
Wales supporters who wore rainbow pail headdresses complained about the commission’s conduct through their Twitter accounts.
” Rainbow headdresses have been taken from men (as well as women). We can’t trust @FIFAcom at each,” wrote Wales Rainbows Wall.
